Electronic Mechanic, NCVT course of 2 year duration started under this department in 2001 with 1 unit (1 unit in 1st Shift). It is affiliated to National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), Govt. of India - Affiliation No. DGET-12/01/2001-TC dated 14.12.2001.
In 2003 Radio & TV Technician, NIOS course of 1 year duration under National Institute of Open Schooling, Govt. of India started. - Affiliation No. NIOS/DIR(Voc. Edn.)/AL/2003 dated 30/01/2003.
In 2005, Radio & Television Engineering, KGCE Course of 2 year duration under State Board of Technical Education, Govt. of Kerala started with 30 seats capacity. - Affiliation No.C4/14133/04/DTE dated 22/06/2005.
In 2006, Electronic Mechanic, NCVT course 1 more unit added (1 unit in 2nd Shift) with Affiliation No. DGET-12/01/2006-TC dated 30.06.2006.
In 2024, Electronics Communication Engineering, KGCE Course under State Board of Technical Education, Govt. of Kerala started with annual intake of 30 seats. - Affiliation No.
Electronic Mechanic
NCVT - NSQF Level 4 - Duration :2 Year
This course is meant for the candidates who aspire to become Technician to Service different Electronics based System/Equipment. At the end of the course the trainee shall be able to 1. Identify various active and passive components and their applications. 2. Handle different types of Electronic measuring Instruments 3. Identify different types of faults in electronics equipments. 4. Repair & maintenance computer hardware & networking 5. Repair and maintenance of SMPS, UPS, Inverter, solar power system and various analog and digital circuits. 6. Repair and maintenance of electronics communication equipments and fiber optics. 7. Installation of various transducer, sensor. 8. Repair maintenance of microcontroller based systems. 9. Repair maintenance& installation of LED/ LCD TV, Cell phone (Mobile). EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES :1. Various Electronics Equipment Manufacturing Industries. 2. Automobile electronics and allied industries 3. Industries manufacturing Solar power based inverters. 4. Industries manufacturing LED Lights 5. Service industries like BSNL, MTNL, Home appliances manufacturing company, Railways, ISRO, Naval dockyard, RCF, BPCL etc. 6. Electronics Communication Engineering
KGCE - Duration : 2 Year
Electrical Engineering course comprises theoretical and practical know-how of Electricity Generators, Electric Motors and House wiring, Industrial wiring, Repairing of Electrical Appliances, Motor winding, Testing and Experiments with Electrical Meters and Cathode Ray Oscilloscope. Besides the KGCE Certificate, the trainees can also get qualified for License as Wireman. The trade has great self-employment opportunities.
