It was established on the 24th October 1970. It provides shelter to destitute orphan boys and girls. Although the strength was only 25 at the time of inception, it grows to 250 in 2010. Inmates are given free modern quality education up to P.G level. There is arrangement to provide vocational education and training to the students. Modern facilities for sports and games are provided. Care is taken to inculcate cultural and moral values

In 1976, it was established as an Upper Primary School, it was subsequently upgraded in to Higher Secondary School. It is commendable that the strength exceeds 3500. It is a noteworthy that there is 90 to 95 percent turn out in public exam results. Ours is one of the best Higher Secondary Schools in the district with regard to HSC results. The achievement in Sports and games and Science fair competitions at inter-School and inter-district levels, is commendable.

Established in 2019 as a two year Fine Arts and Animation Course of Kerala Government Certificate Examination (KGCE) conducted by the Technical Education Division of the Government of Kerala.
